How often do my fire extinguishers need to be serviced?
It is recommended in the British Standards (BS5306 part3) that fire extinguishers should be serviced at least annually. It is required by law, the regulatory reform (fire safety) order to have fire extinguishers serviced annually.
Are all the fire extinguishers full and ready for use ?
Yes, all are full and sealed with an anti tamper tag. The majority of our extinguishers come ready for use straight out of the box, although some models may require hoses to be attached as they are sometimes left off for safe transit.
Do the fire extinguishers meet all the UK regulations?
Yes all fire extinguishers are CE approved which is required by law in this country. Generally speaking, most, if not all are manufactured to BSEN3 standards. The majority of our extinguishers are also kitemarked to BSEN3 which is the full, no questions asked, level of approval in the UK. Are the fire extinguishers UK extinguishers?
The fire extinguishers have all been manufactured for distribution in the UK hence the British Standard Kitemark. However as with many manufacturing industries, the some of the factories are in china, the far east or eastern europe. You'll find other companies trying to mislead you that their extinguishers are UK extinguishers, but these are probably made in china but bought from a UK distributor. Brand leaders Chubb, now manufacturer the majority of their fire extinguishers in China. We stock extinguishers made by the leading UK manufacturers such as Thomas Glover (Chubb Fire), Firemark and JewelSaffire.
Why are the extinguishers so cheap? Is it because the quality is poor?
No, all our fire extinguishers are quality products approved for use in the UK. The majority are kitemarked and manufactured to BSEN3 meaning they meet the required quality standards. They are bought in bulk and sold without the high mark up required to pay for engineers wages and service vehicles.
