Fire extinguisher maintenance is essential is required by law. The British Standard Code of Practice BS 5306 Part 3 recommends that fire extinguisher servicing should be carried out annually to ensure that the extinguishers are safe and will function in an emergency. Our quality fire extinguishers will provide many years of reliable fire protection but despite the five year manufacturers's warranty, an annual service by a competent engineer is still required. The Standard also states that fire extinguishers should be visually inspected every month by the owners for any signs of tampering, low pressure, missing or used extinguishers. A record of these checks should be noted in your fire log book.
When you buy your new fire extinguishers, you can add a commissioning and installation option on the checkout page. Your new extinguishers will then be sent to you and an engineer visit will be arranged to complete the on-site commissioning. This includes the completion of a fire extinguisher servicing label recording the date, weight, next service date and date of discharge or overhaul test.
