Water Mist Fire Extinguishers

Water Mist Fire Extinguishers

Water mist extinguishers are among the latest types of extinguisher to be developed. The patented nozzle breaks up the extinguishant to create billions of microscopic droplets, hugely increasing the cooling and fire suppressing effects of the water. All of our water mist extinguishers have been tested to the highest standards and have achieved the Kitemark or LPCB mark to BS EN3.

The unique nature of these droplets means that water mist extinguishers can be used safely and effectively on a wide range of fires, including:-

  • Class A type fires - fuelled by solid materials such as wood, paper, straw etc.
  • Class B type fires - fuelled by flammable liquids such as solvents, petrol, diesel, paints
  • Class C type fires - fuelled by flammable gases such as methane, propane etc.
  • Class F type fires - small fires fuelled by cooking oils and fats of up to 5 litres in volume
  • Electrical type fires - involving an electrical source

Because they contain only de-ionised water and also due to the tiny water droplets they create, our water mist extinguishers have passed di-electrical testing up to 35,000 Volts. This means they are completely safe for use on live electrical equipment up to 1000V at a distance of 1 metre. The contents are completely free of chemicals and the extinguishers are fully recyclable so they pose no threat to the environment.
